The former Gambian poster lady, Fatou Camara, has now become Fatou Controversy. She used to anchor the popular FatuShow on GRTS, but ever since her exile, she appears to be hosting online FatuSpats.
Someone would assume she would have developed a much thicker skin after years in the media, Fatou is rather becoming both famous and infamous for her constant battles with her critics.
Shortly before she lost her job as Director of Press and Public Relation at the State House, Fatou threatened to close down Star FM if they dare to provoke her wrath. This was when they wanted to discuss, live on air, a publicized rumour about her.
The former Fatu Show presenter also waged an epic war against What’s On-Gambia. She accused them of being used by her ‘haters’ to dirty her image.
Fatou tried several times to mobilise cyber warriors against the country’s leading online magazine.
Now, it looks like The Gambia Inquirer is her new enemy. They took on her over her suggestion that Imam Abdoulie Fatty absconded to another country.
The online newspaper posted a photo of the imam standing in front of his Bakoteh house with the caption: “May Allah Grant him long and healthy life. Ameen.”
Fatou hit back by labeling them as marakass journalists. According to her, they are not real journalists at all.
The Gambia Inquireralso refuted her claim that author and motivational speaker, Momodou Sabally is behind them.
In a very lengthy Facebook post, they wrote: “She is arguing Momodou Sabally is behind the Inquirer. We will soon reveal proofs that she and her co-hosts are liars.”
After few blows back and forth, the feud between Fatou and the marakass journalists has seemingly died down in the past few days.
