Sulayman Marreh has been named man of the match by Gambian sports enthusiasts following the country’s brilliant performance in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa.
According to sports pundits, Marreh played an outstanding part in The Gambia’s 0-0 draw to South Africa at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
Commenting on the midfielder’s performance on the Gambia Football Talk Show Facebook page, one Ali Sowe described him as the type of footballer Manchester United is missing.
Ismaila Badjie, a Gambian living in Cameroun, added: “He was very assured in midfield and controlled the tempo with work ethics, discipline and decisive passes as well as tackles. A gem!”
Sulayman Marreh, who was once praised as a “very good” player by Ivorian international star, Didier Zakora, is currently playing for Spanish club, Granada CF.
Born in 1996, he started his senior football career with Abuko United FC.
