Gambia is one of the few countries in the world where concerts are back to normal

In most parts of the world, large mass gatherings remain banned to halt coronavirus spread. In The Gambia, however, the live music industry is now up and running.

Some of the country's popular musicians are back on stage performing to large crowds amid the coronavirus pandemic that already killed more than 200 people.

Award-winning singer Jizzle was on Saturday at the Manjai Park. Shortly after the concert, he wrote on social media: "We made another history together, Gambia. Alhamdulilah man's running Gm steadily. Sold out, sold out, sold out Manjai Park".

Tallinding-based rapper, Bigg Faa is also warming up for his first post-lockdown concert, Give Back to the Hood, on the 28th November at the Serre Kunda East Mini Stadium.

The Gambia currently has 16 active cases, but there are no restrictions on mass gatherings. Social distancing and masks are encouraged but no longer mandatory in public places.
