Gambian wrestling, which has been dormant for many years, has received a sponsorship worth hundreds of thousands of Dalasi from Gam Housing Real Estate.
According to media reports reaching What’s On-Gambia, the winner of the country’s most recent wrestling bout held at the Independence Stadium, Hoyantan was offered a sea view plot of land in Sanyang by the Kotu-based real estate company, which is led by one of the most hardworking young Gambian estate moguls, Lamin Mboge.
In an interview with Gambia Sports, Mboge disclosed he and his team are poised to make wrestling lucrative like how it is in neighbouring Senegal.
“The government cannot do it all alone and as a private sector, we deemed it fitting to come in and contribute our quota.”
In an interview, the desk officer for wrestling at the National Sports Council commended Gam Housing for supporting the sport and changing the lives of some of The Gambia’s champion wrestlers.
Gam Housing is arguably the only real estate company in The Gambia that offers land at attractive locations for very reasonable prices.
