Mina grew up in Tobacco Road, Banjul and attended Gambia Senior Secondary School. She is the owner of Chop Shop– a high quality restaurant in Fajara with a staff of more than four young Gambians.  The Fula beauty is married to newspaper columnist, Latirr Carr.

He is unquestionably the most famous photographer in the country right now. Alhagie has an impeccable eye to turn ordinary moments into extraordinary pictures. He has a team of more than seven young people.

Kalifa Faal

KMF Technologies

Unlike many young entrepreneurs in the country, he is from a wealthy family. His father is the owner of one of The Gambia’s first private insurance companies.  Kalifa is the founder of KMF Technologies.  According to him, he started his ICT company with only $200.

Alhagie Jallow

 Suna Institute of Science and Technology

He is the owner of Suna Institute of Science and Technology, which was established in 2013. Alhagie provides IT education to hundreds of young Gambians from disadvantaged backgrounds. About 90% of his lecturers are University of The Gambia graduates.

PaAbdou Waggeh

Wax Media

He is the man behind most of the recent Gambian music videos. Pa Abdou also works with GRTS and Mediamatic. Much praise has been showered upon him for featuring the beauty of The Gambia in his videos.  His staff are mainly young people below 26.

Patrick Gomez

Casa del Gelato

He is the co-owner of Casa del Gelato – a famous ice cream café inside the Mall of The Gambia. Patrick is a former University of The Gambia student. His café, which is a popular spot, employs a handful of young people.

Lamin Kanteh

Eye TV Africa

Lamin is one of the hardworking young people in the media industry. He is the founder of Eye TV Africa. Lamin is known for offering part time jobs to young aspiring journalists. He was recently in Europe investigating the plight of “back way” migrants.

Raffie Diab

R&A Company Ltd.

Raffie is the owner of R&A Company along Kairaba Avenue. His company prides itself on being the leader in printing, outdoor advertising, graphics and web designing.  He also offers jobs to mainly young Gambians.
