Gambians are among many football enthusiasts that are showing their support for England after the Three Lions defeated Sweden to reach the World Cup semi-final for the first time in 28 years.
One Huraimatou Bah in Bakau wrote on Facebook: “Oh yes, England will make it to the final.”
A former student of the University of The Gambia, Ousainou Ceesay also wrote: “England will surely win the trophy by God’s grace. Go England!”
For Ida Jallow, who is based in England: "it’s coming home. Well done, lads!"
Meanwhile, former Daily Observer sports editor, Nanama Keita doesn’t want the Three Lions to reach the World Cup final.
“I’m still here mad about the fact that the lousy colonizers, England, have reached the World Cup semis - only their first semis in 28 long years.”
The Three Lions are set to play Croatia later today at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. The captain of the team, Harry Kane told journalists: “I am dreaming of winning a World Cup as England captain.
