Political Science graduates from the University of The Gambia are facing unemployment after successfully completing their Bachelor's Degree.
One of them, Modou Barry disclosed to What's On-Gambia: "After four years of education, many of us can't find jobs to support ourselves and our families. It's so difficult."
The former UTG student continued: "God knows how I struggled to fund my degree. I'm from a poor family."
Modou alleged that some employers don't like hiring them, because political science graduates are always falsely painted as opposition activists.
He argued: "Our field of studies has nothing to do with wanting to be politicians. Most of the institutions, especially the ministry of education, don't want to employ political scientists.
"We are citizens and should be offered the same opportunities as other UTG graduates. They should stop discriminating against us."
Political Science is one of the most popular fields of studies at the UTG. Some of their famous graduates include Sait Matty Jaw, Nfally Fadera and Mustapha Kah.
