The Gambia National Assembly, the country's legislative body, has some members who are intelligent and considered to be very bright.
Here are the most intelligent National Assembly members:
Hon. Halifa Sallah (PDOIS)
Serre Kunda Central
He is the secretary general of the People's Democratic Organisation for Independence and Socialism (PDOIS). He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the USA and worked with the social welfare department before entering politics.
Hon. Sidia Jatta (PDOIS)

A former presidential candidate, Sidia is a highly respected academic and writer. He went to university in France, where he bagged a Master’s Degree in Linguistics.

He is the majority leader in the National Assembly. The Gunjur-born politician worked with various international organisations before entering active politics.

He was the editor and publisher of the Daily News. Madi was one of the most outstanding journalists before becoming a National Assembly member.
Alhagie S. Darboe (UDP)
Brikama North
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of The Gambia. A former teacher and youth leader, Alagie was one of President Barrow’s advisers during the 2016 presidential campaign.
Yaya Gassama (UDP)
Kiang East
He is also among the university graduates in the assembly. Yaya was a lecturer at the Gambian College.
Ya Kumba Jaiteh (Nominated)
She’s the youngest female member of the assembly. Nominated by the president, Ya Kumba studied Law in England.

Although he’s a loudmouth, Saikouba is widely believed to be among the most intelligent young politicians in the country. He holds a Higher Teacher's Certificate from the Gambia College.

Dawda is western-educated. He is one of the few politicians who are never afraid of debating with keyboard warriors.

He’s in his second term as National Assembly member for Basse. Magassy also attended the University of The Gambia after working as a teacher.

He is the co-owner of one of the country’s biggest IT firms, Lasting Solutions along the Kairaba Avenue. Alhagie went to university in the USA.

She bagged both her bachelor's and master’s degrees from British universities. Fatoumatta is one of the most thoughtful and articulate female politicians.
