A housemaid is on the run after allegedly stealing D15,000, jewelry, mobile phones, and other valuables from the family that employed her.

The mother of the family, Yama Johm-Jallow disclosed to What's Om-Gambia: " Her name is Naffie Saidy. She lives with her mum behind my elder brother's compound in Sukuta. when we were looking for a maid, her mother suggested we take her to look after my one-year-old son."

She continued: "She started working with us in May this year. But on Saturday when I was away at work, she broke into my bedroom and stole my money amounting to D15,000 and most of my expensive clothes and jewelry. She also took my husband's brand new Sparks 7 and iPhone 6."

According to Yama, they have reported the matter to the Bundung Police to assist them to locate Naffie.

"We reported the incident at the Bundung Police Station. They had her mum in custody but later released her claiming she fainted," she said.

Naffie has not yet been apprehended and police are continuing investigations. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Bundung Police or What's On-Gambia.
