A young man, who begged for anonymity, has disclosed to What's On-Gambia that her sister plans to marry the man who raped her.

In a message, he explained: "My older sister is pregnant, and I am financially supporting her. She fled to Senegal because if our mother found out about the pregnancy, she would never forgive her and would disown her."

"According to my sister, she was raped and didn't realize she was pregnant until she was three months along. She said the rapist claimed he did it because he loved her. Now, she wants to get married to him.”

The young man further disclosed that her sister was raped during a pool party with her friends. 

"She told me the assault happened at a pool party they both attended. Our mother would never believe this; she's very strict and doesn't tolerate such matters lightly," he said.
