The people of Bakau are mourning the death of their favorite dog, according to information reaching What's On-Gambia.

Fancy died on Tuesday, December 19, and was buried on the same day.

One Alieu Sarr, a resident of Bakau, said: "Fancy was a loving and caring dog. He was very popular among children and served as a security dog for many compounds.

"He was loved by the whole community to the extent that he was everyone's pet. Everyone looked after him, giving him food every day.

He added: "He died on the beach on Tuesday around 5 pm. It was like a human being died. He was buried on the beach.

When asked if Fancy was sick, Alieu responded: "Yes, he was attacked by an unknown disease."
