The Gambia is facing calls to ban Wally Seck from entering the country amid allegations that he is gay. Wally, who has growing support in the neighbouring and closely related Gambia, has starred in many public musical events.
But doubts over the Senegalese star’s sexual orientation have persisted in spite of the fact that Thione Seck’s son has married one of the most beautiful young Senegalese ladies.
Is he or is he not?
According to some of Wally’s critics, he could be a closet homosexual. The famous Senegalese singer was recently filmed carrying a designer handbag raising questions about his masculinity.
In an interview with People.com, Wally insisted that he is straight with a wife who is considered by many as one of the most beautiful young women in Dakar.
He said: “I don’t like homosexuality. In my family, we don’t have homosexuals. I have my wife that I married according to Islamic teachings. They have to stop it!”
Over the past few years, Wally has been hounded by gay rumours both in Senegal and The Gambia. Some of his critics are already calling for him to be banned from the country.
Will that happen?
Homosexuality is illegal in The Gambia. In early 2015, President Jammeh announced that homosexuals are not welcomed in the country.
