The management of Jah Oil company has denied allegations that they sell poor quality fuel to unsuspecting customers.
Momodou Hydara, the company's manager described the allegations as false and unfounded. He denied the accusations in an interview with The Point newspaper at his office in Bafuloto, West Coast Region.
"When you are in business and competing, usually people will try to get every kind of dark and put it on you," he said.
Hydara added: "It is so bogus and disturbing when people make such an allegation after seeing us coming this far, now dominating and becoming the largest fuel distributors in the country."
Jah Oil is undoubtedly the largest fuel company in The Gambia, with fuel stations across the country. But the company has always been plagued by scandals, including allegations of land grabbing and illegal erection of fuel stations in residential areas.
