Jeh, kori kaira? UDP allegedly took Fatoumatta K. Jawara to marabouts

Fatoumatta K. Jawara was among the incumbent National Assembly members who lost their seats to the opposition in the recently held National Assembly election.

One of her party's militants on social media, Babubacarr Bahoum claimed that the former Tallinding representative lost the election because the United Democratic Party (UDP) took her to marabouts.

In a Facebook post, he wrote: "Ousainou Darboe and UDP hate Honourable Fatoumatta K Jawara to the extent of taking her to the marabouts to lost elections."

One Maimuna Conteh commented: "So you were there when they took her to marabouts for her to lose the election. Sometimes you talk nonsense."

Fatoumatta was a youth leader in the UDP before abandoning the party in 2020 to support "President Adama Barrow's agenda". She later became one of the founding members of the National People's Party (NPP).

After losing the election to UDP's Musa Badjie, Fatoumatta was nominated by the Gambian leader to return to the National Assembly.
