Killa Ace has thrown himself into the spotlight, yet again, with a new single critical of the Gambian government.
Ku Boka C Geta Gwas released on Monday night. Dozens of his fans took to Facebook to praise him for his courage in being the first rapper to openly criticize the government.
Famous Gambia-based Nigerian producer, Efe Omo Igori said: “It is true that there will always come a time when we must look at ourselves, and trust me it takes a lot of guts to do that! KILLA ACE take a breath of relief.”
The most respected promoter of Gambian hip hop, Bankie Grey-Johnson had very little to say about the controversial single: “Mad respect to you Killa Ace!!”
Ku Boka C Geta G, which scored more than 10,000 plays on SoundCloud in less than 20 hours of its release, addresses the problems of the youth and unemployment.
Killa Ace is in Dakar, where he recently represented The Gambia at the Festa2h International Hip Hop Festival. He is famous for boosting his career by actively courting controversy.
