A side chick has accused a married deputy ambassador (name withheld) of abandoning her after allegedly getting her pregnant for the second time.
In a message sent to What’s On-Gambia, the woman, who requested anonymity, claimed she had been in a relationship with the diplomat for five years. She said she is currently five months pregnant and has kept the pregnancy hidden from her parents because she does not know how to tell them.
According to her, this is the second time she has become pregnant by him. She alleged that during the first pregnancy, she was pressured into having an abortion, an experience she says she has never recovered from emotionally.
She further claimed that he is now asking her to terminate the current pregnancy as well, saying he is not ready for a child and that it could damage his career. She said he also reminded her that he is married.
The woman said she refused, explaining that she could not go through another abortion and wanted to give the baby a chance to live. Since then, she alleges he has cut off contact and has not provided any support for more than two weeks.
She added that the stress of the situation forced her to resign from her job so she could focus on her health and pregnancy. Now five months pregnant, she says she feels alone, confused, and uncertain about what to do next.
