Maimuna Gibba returned to Mile 2 after failing to meet bail conditions

Maimuna Gibba was on Monday sent back to Mile 2 prison after failing to meet the bail conditions set by the Bundung Magistrate's Court.

The infamous slay queen, who was arrested last month and charged with allegedly stealing millions of Dalasi from a safe in a Tallinding compound, could not provide two sureties with multimillion Dalasi properties within the Kanifing Municipality.

A source told What's On-Gambia: "The magistrate at the Bundung granted her bail, but she was returned to prison because of her inability to meet the bail conditions."

When asked why it was difficult for Maimuna and her family to find sureties, the source responded: "Who would do that for her? We're talking about sureties who own multimillion Dalasi houses within the Kanifing Municipality."

Maimuna, charged with a single count of theft, has pleaded not guilty and currently lacks legal representation. If convicted, she could face a lengthy prison sentence.
