A young man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly stabbing and killing his friend after a spat over some petty issue.

The victim, identified as Ndongo Ceesay was stabbed by Modou Gaye while drinking attaya at a "vous" in Kunkujang following a spat, according to police PRO, Superintendent Lamin Njie.

"We can confirm the incident at Kunkujang in which Modou Gaye stabbed Ndongo Ceesay," he said.

Superintendant Njie added: "The deceased was evacuated to the Bundung Maternal and Child Health Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

"Modou is currently under police custody helping the police in their investigations."
