The Lord Mayor of Banjul Rohey Malick Lowe has met with the student leaders from the Gambia College School of Nursing and Midwifery and vowed to help them overcome the water scarcity problem they are facing in their dormitory.
Some of the students disclosed that with water scarcity, sometimes they have no option but to go to class without taking bath.
The president of the Students' Association, Mamadou Alieu Barry told What's On-Gambia that they have started working with the mayor's office to overcome their water woes.
"She promised to give us water tanks and a pressure pump that would help increase the volume and pressure of water flow," he said.
Mamadou Alieu further disclosed that Mayor Lowe also promised to give them 55 dustbins and a waste collection vehicle.
Located in Banjul, Gambia College School of Nursing and Midwifery is one of the oldest schools in the city. It has more than 200 students living on campus.
