Their names will be appearing on the ballot boxes in the Kanifing Municipal Council’s mayoral election on the 12th May, but they didn’t get there alone. Both of their wives have been supporting their campaigns for months.

Bakary Badjie’s wife, Awa Jobarteh was born and brought up in Brikama. She attended St. Joseph Senior Secondary School and later worked at the Child Protection Alliance, Reliance Financial Services, and Standard Chartered Bank before moving to the USA.

The mother-of-three recently wrote on Facebook: “Thank you Badjie Bassen! Your Expertise, Maturity and Experience can’t be matched. #TheChoiceIsClear.”

Her husband’s campaign poster is her profile photo on the social networking site.

For Talib’s wife, Salimatou Jallow, she has been laying a lot lower than her counterpart. She’s an extremely shy person, but very supportive of her husband’s campaign.

The Kanifing Estate – born attended Rev J.C Memorial School in Banjul before moving to the United Kingdom, where she furthered her education.
