Mother with epilepsy fights for life after falling into boiling oil

A young mother is fighting for her life after falling into boiling oil during an epileptic seizure.

Pullo Jallow, from Wellingara, suffered horrific burns on her face and chest.

One of her relatives, Awa Gassama told What’s On-Gambia: "She suffered convulsion while she was making pancakes to sell. There was no one around in the compound. It was a child who saw her and ran to call some of the neighbours.”

She added: “Pullo used to sell groundnuts, but on that day she decided to make pancakes.”

According to Awa, the accident happened on the 30th December, 2018. The young mother fell face down into the boiling oil.

She was rushed to the Faji Kunda Health Centre and was referred to the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital, where she is still fighting for her life.

Now the family have launched an appeal for public help to raise money to help Pullo to travel to neighbouring Senegal for further medical treatment.
