A Brikama young woman who was accused of having two husbands was acquitted and discharged by the Brikama Magistrates Court.
The police arrested Isatou Sey earlier this year on allegations that she contracted a second marriage with a Finland-based Gambian whilst already married to one Momodou Jallow.
The case went on trial, and last week Magistrate Peter Adoh Che found Isatou not guilty of bigamy, reports reaching What's On-Gambia revealed.
An insider at the Brikama Magistrates Court disclosed the prosecutor could not prove that the young woman married again while having a husband.
When contacted by this outlet, Isatou confirmed her acquittal. She said: "The magistrate was so angry with the police for bringing a foolish case before him."
The Brikama-born claimed he obtained a divorce letter from Momodou before walking down the aisle with her second husband.
