More than 25,000 Gambians are expected to attend Zimbabwean-born Islamic scholar, Mufti Menk’s first public sermon in The Gambia.
The landmark religious event will be held on the 3rd November, 2018 at the Independence Stadium, which is the country’s biggest event venue.
In a recorded video message, Mufti Menk said: “The Building Bridges Tour is coming to you on the 3rd of November, Inshalla at the Independence Stadium in Bakau in the afternoon. Free event, open to the public..please attend.”
He added: “I look forward to seeing you. I am very excited about it. I have been meaning to come to The Gambia for a long time, but this is when the Almighty has actually made it easy for us and still pray it’s a huge success.”
The PRO of the organising team, Alieu Daffeh said they are expecting more than 25,000 to throng the stadium to listen to the scholar.
Mufti Menk is a revered figure in The Gambia among devout Muslims. One of his followers on Facebook told What’s On-Gambia: “To see Mufti Menk is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I will be at the Stadium.”
