Police will shut down roads in the Senegambia Strip from 5pm on New Year’s Eve, turning the nightlife hotspot into a pedestrian-only party zone ahead of the midnight countdown.
With thousands of youths expected to flood the Strip, hotels, bars, and restaurants are gearing up for explosive fireworks, loud music, and all-night celebrations.
Heavy police presence will dominate the area, backed by security patrols, as authorities brace for the annual surge in crime that often comes with the festivities.
“Every New Year’s Eve, criminals sneak in from neighbouring countries to steal and vanish across the borders,” a security source revealed.
Entertainment venues are beefing up private security, determined to keep partygoers safe from pickpockets and troublemakers.
The night won’t be short of star power! Jizzle and Barhama are set to rock hotel stages, while top music promoter Waka Jagne is hosting a FREE mega concert at the Jakarlo Football Field.
Meanwhile, Brikama Area Council and Kanifing Municipal Council are rolling out their own celebrations – a move many say could ease pressure on the Strip and prevent overcrowding.
One thing is certain: Senegambia is set for a wild night. Party hard, but stay alert!
