Presidential race getting crowded: Joseph H. Joof also wants to enter State House

Traffic is building up on the road to the 2016 elections, with more politicians expressing their desire to run for President.

Joseph Henry Joof, who once served as Attorney General and Minister of Justice, has written to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) to inform them that he wants to run as an independent candidate.

Born in Banjul in 1960, Joof is one of the most respected lawyers in the country.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in Law and Economics from the UK.

According to the Point Newspaper, he was President of the Gambia Bar Association and for many years President of the African Bar with members from English and French-speaking countries in Africa.
