When Senegal hosted the Organization of the Islamic Conference summit in 2009, former President Abdoulaye Wade appointed his son, Karim as the secretary general of the organising committee.

It looks like The Gambia’s vice president, Fatoumatta Tambajang also repeated the nepotistic precedence set by Wade after meeting an OIC delegation that was in the country to discuss preparations for the next summit to be held in Banjul.

According to Freedom Newspaper, her son, Omar Ann has been appointed to serve on the organising committee.

The eldest of Tambajang’s children, his new job means his monthly income will surpass the annual income of many Gambian civil servants.
