Rambo Jatta calls his supreme leader “a liar, a tribalist and a traitor”

After years of defending him, the deputy leader of the APRC, Ousman Rambo Jatta has claimed that former President Yahya Jammeh is "a liar, a tribalist and a traitor".

Rambo wasn't happy with his supreme leader's controversial decision to revoke their party's alliance with President Adama Barrow's NPP.

Jammeh also dissolved the APRC's executive led by Fabakary Tombong Jatta (FTJ) and installed a new one to enter into an alliance with the Gambia Alliance for National Unity (GANU) led by one of his former ministers, Sheikh Tijan Hydara.

In a Facebook post that he later deleted, the outspoken Bakau-born politician ranted: "Chei Yaya Jammeh. So you think you still have the powers of a president to hire and fire?"

He continued: "The APRC is governed by a constitution and you cannot expel FTJ. My regrets for supporting a liar, a tribalist and a traitor."

The dissolved APRC executive is expected to hold a press conference on Thursday to officially respond to their supreme leader's pronouncement. There are rumors that they may expel him from the party that he established in 1996.
