A famous banker last week left his family in total shock after he was found dead at the wheel of his car.

Modou Mboob was on his way home after closing from work when he suddenly died.

He was alone in the car and it took a while before he was discovered and taken to the hospital, a source said.

Mr Mboob’s grief-stricken wife said: “I was shocked when I got the news. There was nothing wrong with him. He even called me while he was at work.”

His Facebook account was littered with condolence messages.

One of his former classmates in college, Saja Camara wrote: “Sad to hear that you are no more with us. You were a friend and a brother that I always looked up to. May Allah grant you Jannah. Rest in peace.”

One Serign Cheikh Mbacke Thiaw‎ also wrote: “Ya Allah, please forgive Modou Mboob, your servant, son of your servants who has accepted and acknowledged that there is no God to worship but You and that Muhammed (SAW) is your final prophet and messenger. He left a wife, please guide her, he left children, please protect them, he left friends and relatives, please console them.

You have power over him, over us and over all things and you are the most gracious most merciful, please make Jannatul firdaus his final home. Ameen.”

Modou Mboob was working with Guaranty Trust Bank as Relationship Manager at the bank’s Serrekunda Branch.  He was living at the Tujereng Estate with his wife and children.
