Brikama-born rapper, ST on Saturday cancelled an appearance at the Box Ba Mini Stadium in Brikama because the event was sponsored by the mobile telecommunications giant, Africell.

One of the event coordinators told What’s On-Gambia: “ST failed us! He refused to perform after paying him D6, 000. His reason was he has a contract with GAMCELL therefore he will not perform at any event sponsored by other GSM providers.”

The event was organised by the youth organisation, For The Gambia First to raise money for an inter-school English and Maths quiz.

According to the organisation’s PRO, Modou Yusupha Cham, they spent more than D25, 000 on the event.

“This shows Gambian artists are not professional. They don’t respect their fans. We are taking him to court.”

For The Gambia First wants ST to refund them every single butut spent on the event.
