Famous Tiktoker Awa Ceesay found herself facing social media backlash last week after she posted a video in which she claimed many Gambian men now prefer anal sex to vaginal sex.

Awa has since deleted the video and apologized in a follow-up video that gathered more than 1200 likes and dozens of comments.

"I want to apologize for what I said about Gambian men. I don't want to repeat what I said. I know I offended you guys, but please forgive me. It was a mistake," she said.

One Fatou Sey Njie commented: "I am happy that you came out and apologized. That is very good sister."

In the now-deleted video, Awa, who has over 30,000 followers on TikTok, said many Gambian men are now obsessed with anal sex.

"Why are they inserting it into the anus when women are here?" she asked her followers.

Social media users quickly lambasted her, flooding both TikTok and YouTube with reactions and advice for Awa, who later wrote on her page: "No heart feeling, we are one family."

Her apology video was also shared by famous YouTuber, Figo Manneh of Figo Mock News.
