Tobaski in The Gambia tomorrow!

The Gambia will celebate Eid al-Adha, locally known as Tobaski, tomorrow.

The festival marks the end of Hajj and involves animal sacrifice as a symbol of Ibrahim's sacrifice to Allah.

The Gambia government has already declared Thursday, 24, Friday, 25, Saturday, 26, and Sunday, 27, of September, 2015 as Public Holidays.

Why do Muslims celebrate Eid al-Adha?

Origins:Eid al-Adha commemorates the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. Upon observing Abraham´s act of devotion, God instead provided him with a ram to sacrifice.

Meaning:The festival brings a message of peace, sacrifice, and devotion in the name of God. It is in the Islamic tradition to sacrifice animals to please Allah and get his blessings.
