TRRC’s unidentified witness unmasked on social media

The unidentified young woman, who accused ex-President Jammeh of sexually harassing her when she was working in the state House as a protocol officer, has been unmasked.

Testifying via Skype on Monday, she told the Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission (TRRC) that she was once grabbed and touched inappropriately by the former Gambian leader.

She further alleged that Jammeh cheated on his wife with multiple State House employees including his own niece.

The name of the unidentified woman was revealed on social media shortly after her testimony, and details are emerging about her stint as a protocol officer at the State House.

One of her former co-workers, who begged for anonymity, told What's On-Gambia: "She was among the leaders of NAPSA who were offered jobs by Jammeh. I doubt if she was ever touched inappropriately by him."

She continued: "Like most of us who worked at the State House, we were happy to be there. We were receiving gifts from the president and our families were aware."

When asked if the unidentified woman still lives in The Gambia, she responded: "No. She now lives in Germany."
