She was recently described as the luckiest Gambian girl in the UK after tying the knot with multi-millionaire footballer, Oumar Niasse.

But now it seems the romance between Pokie John and her husband is on the rocks after police were called to their house on suspicion of assault.

According the Mirror, Niasse was arrested in the early hours of Friday morning and taken into custody for questioning. He was later bailed pending further investigation.

The Senegalese footballer’s club has in the weekend reacted to his arrest. According to a spokesperson: “the club condemns unreservedly any form of abuse. In this case, we understand an investigation is underway to establish the facts.”

Her real name is Sira John and she is a Kairaba Avenue girl. Pokie, who is known for dating wealthy men, was an illegal migrant in the UK before meeting Niasse. The couple got married last year and have a child together.
