UTG student launches second book

A student from the University of the Gambia School of Journalism, Famara Fofana has launched his second book titled 'Recollections Of An African Child' on Saturday at the Gambia Tourism and Hospitality Institute.

Speaking in front of a full house of well-wishers and patronisers,  Famara described the event as special.

"I'll, first of all, like to thank Allah the almighty for this special event. I'd like to thank Team Aspire and Child Fund for the love and support".

He said he was inspired by the underprivileged but happy life he had as a child in the village. He urged the many inspired audience, especially the youths to develop the habit of writing.

Doctor Adekule, a senior lecturer at the University of the Gambia, described Famara as a hard-working young man. "I've been privileged to lecture Famara in some of his courses at the university. I am not surprised to witness this day as he is very determined and hard-working."

This is the second book authored by Famara Fofana. It could be recalled that in October 2016, he launched his first book, 'When My Village Was My Village'.

Among the attendees were Dr Ismail Ceesay of the University of the Gambia and the Dean of the University of the Gambia School of Journalism Nana Grey Johnson.

The launching ended with an entertainment from Kitabu the comedian, Bro K and Bright Stars Entertainment.
