If you are an active TikTok user, chances are, you have seen videos of Hilda Savage. She is one of the most popular young women on the social media app with over 250,000 followers.
In a chat with fellow TikToker, Makangba, the mother-of-one disclosed she was born in Banjul, but spent most of her childhood years in Sukuta, West Coast Region.
"My dad is an Aku from Banjul and my mum a Mandinka from Sukuta, They divorced when I was three years old, but I was always in Sukuta to visit my mum's family," she said.
According to Hilda, Sukuta is one of the best places to live in The Gambia. She claimed that Sukutarians are warriors and they always support each other.
The famous TikToker urged young Mandinkas to be proud of their cultural heritage. She argued: "To be proud of your heritage is not tribalism."
