Ma Nyima Konteh is one of the most famous Gambian fashionistas on social media with thousands of followers, most of them young women. 

Based in Germany, Ma Nyima and her husband recently hosted an expensive wedding reception at Penchami Hall, Senegambia for their family members and friends. 

They allegedly splashed more than D1 million on the big day, thinking that all their invitees would turn up. 

However, according to a source, who begged for anonymity, the reception received low attendance. A video that was shared on WhatsApp also showed a guest deficit.

"It could be possible that they wanted it like that. Ma Nyima is a quiet person, even on social media," said the source. 

The source added that a lot of money was spent on food and drinks for the invitees.
