Who our musicians are voting for on Saturday

With the 2021 presidential election just days away on December 4, musicians are taking to social media to encourage their fans to get out and vote.

While some of them have shown their support for incumbent President Adama Barrow, with the likes of rapper Bigg Faa and Samba Bah backing the NPP leader, other candidates also have a base of musician supporters.

"Vote for system change, Gambia, If we really want to end our plight and gain back our sovereignty as a nation and people. You can't say Gander never told us," reggae singer Dr Olugander said in a Facebook post, urging his fans to vote for PDOIS' Halifa Sallah.

Afro-manding singer, Nyancho is rooting for the UDP to win the presidential election. He recently dropped an anti-corruption music video, which gathered over 200,000 views on YouTube.

Another vocal UDP supporter is Bro K. He was among the celebrities who endorsed Talib Bensouda in the 2018 local government elections.

DJ Firemen was among the early supporters of Banky - the independent presidential candidate, whose nomination was rejected by the IEC chairman. He's the first and only presidential candidate in Gambian history who promised to legalize marijuana if elected.

ST, Jizzle, Attack, Hussain Dada, Jali Madi, Jally Naya, Musa Filly Jobarteh and other prominent musicians are yet to reveal who they would be personally voting for on December 4.
