Kemo Bojang, one of the most prominent young politicians in the country, got married over the weekend in a low-key ceremony that was attended by family members and friends.
The young politician refused to hire tents for the guests because he didn't want them to turn his event into a party.
"I was at the wedding and I can't remember seeing a tent. I think both Kemo and his wife wanted it to be a simple affair," said one of the guests.
Kemo is a very popular politician, who once served as a youth leader for the United Democratic Party, the country's biggest opposition party. But there were no "bongo" players at his wedding.
The ceremony took place in Old Yundum and was done as per the couple's customs.
Kemo's wife lives in the USA, where she works as a nurse. She's the daughter of Terama Dahaba, the former technical director of the Gambia Football Federation.
