Will Sweden deport Lamin Jaiteh to Gambia?

The Swedish Migration Agency, Migrationsverket has temporarily suspended the deportation of one of the President Adama Barrow’s most outspoken critics in the Diaspora.

Lamin Jaiteh was due to be removed from Sweden to The Gambia last week, but it seems Migrationsverket agreed to consider new evidence in support of his case.

In a Facebook post, he disclosed: “My deportation is cancelled until further notice. Thanks to Amnesty International and all well-wishers. To The Gambia ever true.”

Facebook user, French Montana commented: “Stay strong bro! Allah is in control. This government has already failed.”

One Awa Sey Jammeh also wrote: “It will never happen, InshaAllah. Freedom of speech is your right and is needed in The Gambia.”

Lamin moved to Sweden in 2013 after marrying a Stockholm-based Gambian woman. A source revealed that the former couple have two children together.

If deported to The Gambia, the controversial political activists might be arrested and dragged to court for “insulting” the Gambian leader.

He once told What’s On-Gambia: “President Adama Barrow is lying to us daily and he doesn’t have the concern of the people at hand. His government is so corrupt.
