They are well known for putting education ahead of anything. Well, perhaps except their love for one another.
Momodou and Isatou Cox have been awarded a prestigious international scholarship by the British government to pursue their goals of furthering their education abroad.
They are among a handful of Gambians that won this year’s Chevening Scholarship, which offers a unique opportunity for future leaders, influencers, and decision-makers from all over the world to develop professionally and academically, network extensively, experience UK culture, and build lasting positive relationships with the UK.
The couple, who work with the Medical Research Council (MRC), are expected to leave for England soon.
In an article published by the MRC on their website, they described Momodou as one of the most promising young scientists in The Gambia.
According to a source, the couple are famous for their academic prowess. They were both star students in senior secondary school.
