A 7-year-old Gambian girl is making waves in Australia. Mariama Camara was among the brightest pupils recently awarded certificates and medals by the Fairfield Public School in Sydney.

She bagged two outstanding academic achievement awards.

Mariama’s dad described her as a hardworking and polite girl who strives for excellence. In her school, she is recognized as an exemplary pupil.

Besides winning two outstanding academic achievement awards, she has in the past won numerous high achiever awards in Mathematics, English and Science.

The 7-year-old lives in Sydney with her parents, who are both from Upper River Region. Her brother also won a bronze award for outstanding achievement.
