A police officer in Bansang has allegedly impregnated a Grade 11 student who was reportedly under his care as a guardian, according to a source at Bansang Hospital.
The allegation has raised serious concerns about the welfare and protection of the student, with questions emerging over the circumstances surrounding the reported pregnancy.
Speaking to What’s On-Gambia, a source at Bansang Hospital said: “A police officer got a student pregnant who was under his care. It’s so sad.”
When asked about the student’s age, the source said they could not confirm it but noted she was in Grade 11.
As of the time of reporting, the case had reportedly not been reported to the police. It remains unclear whether the student’s family has taken any action or whether the relevant authorities are aware of the allegation.
