A 24-year-old woman from Farato Bojang Kunda, identified as Mariama Jallow, was hospitalized after allegedly drinking rat poison following an argument with her husband.
According to a source, neighbours alerted the police about the incident. Mariama was quickly taken to Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital, where she received treatment before being handed over to the police for further investigation.
Details of the dispute remain unclear. However, her husband, Momodou Salieu Sowe, told CID investigators that during their disagreement, Mariama threatened to take her own life. She reportedly went to a shop, purchased rat poison, and consumed it.
Police have since taken statements from both parties and opened a case file for further investigation and possible legal action.
