On Monday evening, a woman contacted What’s On-Gambia via WhatsApp using an Africell number, requesting financial assistance to purchase a sex toy.
Speaking with a noticeable foreign accent, she said: “Can you please help me get a dildo.”
When asked why she preferred self-satisfaction instead of seeking a partner, the woman abruptly ended the conversation. Her WhatsApp display name was listed as “Gift Diamond.”
The use of sex toys is reportedly becoming more common in The Gambia, with some women citing dissatisfaction in their relationships or physical limitations of their partners as reasons for turning to them.
