Another male midwife in the provinces has been accused of sexually abusing women while they were under sedation.
One of his colleagues revealed: "He used to sedate his victims who came to seek health care. He was caught multiple times, but the Regional Health Directorate will intervene by redeploying him."
He continued: "The problem with our authorities is that they are not always comfortable with the truth and that is the reason we face a lot of challenges in the health system.
"All the healthcare workers in the URR were aware that he was sedating people's wives to sleep with them."
When asked if the nurse is still in the provinces, he responded: "Yes, at Basse District Hospital. But before Basse, he was posted at Gambisara, Sabi, Garawol, Koina, Foday Kunda and back to Basse for the second time.
"His redeployment from Sabi and Foday Kunda was very famous and the entire region knows why he was moved. Everyone was (name deleted) again. It is sad that if you want to stand against such an act, the authorities will label you and you will be in their black books."
Meanwhile, the ministry has allegedly opened an investigation into rape and sexual abuse allegations against a midwife in Bureng Health Centre, Lower River Region.
