The former ruling party, APRC is all set to embark on a nationwide tour starting on the 4th January, 2018.
The tour will be led by the party’s interim leader, Fabakary Tombong Jatta accompanied by Mayor Yankuba Colley, Seedy SK Njie, Musa Amul Nyassi, Abdoulie Kanagi Jawla and other prominent members of the executive committee.
According to one of APRC’s most outspoken members in the Diaspora, Lamin Tamba, they will be meeting traditional and religious leaders as well as regional and constituency executives of the party.
He said: “The tour will take us to many towns, villages and hamlets, both in rural and urban Gambia, including the capital city, Banjul. We will line up in a caravan format, likely a fleet of up to 50 vehicles.”
As part of the tour, members of the newly established APRC National Coordinating Committee will be introduced to supporters.
“We will also acquaint them how we intend to modernise the party and how we will work going forward. It will be a fact-finding mission too, to find out whether voter fraud which was alleged was indeed true.”
The tour is expected to end on the 20th January.
