A woman who set fire to her husband’s clothes after discovering his infidelity was illegally detained for over 96 hours at the Brusubi Police Station, where her mobile phones were also confiscated.
Aisha Ceesay was reportedly devastated upon seeing social media photos of her semester husband kissing another woman.
According to an anonymous source: “She was so furious and heartbroken that she decided to set fire to his clothes.”
Allegations have surfaced that her husband bribed CID officers at Brusubi Police Station, resulting in Aisha’s arrest and unlawful detention for four days. During this time, her mobile phones, including an iPhone 11, were seized.
Following her release, Aisha learned that her husband had been unfaithful multiple times, even fathering a child with another woman.
What’s On-Gambia intends to support Aisha in filing a formal complaint at police headquarters in Banjul to retrieve her confiscated mobile phones from the CID officers in Brusubi.
