The counsel to the Commission of Enquiry, Amie Bensouda seems to have a favourite phrase.
Since the commencement of the inquiry into Jammeh’s assets and financial activities, the famous lawyer, has repeatedly used the phrase “I See” as witnesses give their testimonies.
But what does Bensouda mean when she says it? And why does she use it so often?
“I think she is shocked at the way everything is intertwined. So every time she figures out something, she says "I see." She is also telling them, "I see" so I get it and will deal with you guys in court later,” said journalist and political commentator, Samsudeen Phatey.
Amie Bensouda is one of the most influential lawyers in the country. She was once arrested and held incommunicado for two days by the former government.
