A court clerk has come under fire for allegedly initiating a romantic relationship with the wife of a 23-year-old man who was remanded in prison for alleged marijuana trafficking.
Sources revealed that the young man was left heartbroken when his wife - who had been frequenting the court in efforts to secure his bail - was allegedly approached and wooed by the court clerk.
“The young man was arrested and remanded for marijuana trafficking. His wife, trying to help him, was always at the court. During this time, the court clerk began pursuing her, and they eventually started dating secretly,” the source disclosed.
The situation took a shocking turn when the wife visited her husband at the Mile 2 Central Prison and demanded a divorce. Left with little choice, the man reportedly wrote a divorce letter addressed to his in-laws.
What followed was even more devastating for the 23-year-old. He later learned that his now ex-wife got married to the court clerk and moved on to begin a new life with him.
After spending more than a year in custody, the young man was eventually granted bail. However, his trial is ongoing, and he faces the possibility of being sent back to prison if found guilty of the charges against him.
