A Gambian doctor in the USA has introduced a new Facebook page to promote health awareness among Gambians.
Dr Tekanyi, who is currently pursuing a postgraduate medical training, told What’s On Gambia: “I started the page to increase the knowledge and awareness of the people on key public health issues affecting them.”
Named The Doctors Corner, the page has already gathered more than 1,000 likes.
Dr Tekanyi is one of the country’s home trained doctors. Before moving to the USA, he worked with both the Medical Research Council (MRC) and Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital.
